These starter jaws can take a pounding so once in a while the racer will need to replace one in the heat of battle to keep their hot rod firing up on race day.
Starter jaw has three ramps to give a smooth engagement and racer should note the starter jaw needs approx. .100" clearance between the top of the two starter jaws so when the motor fires there will be clearance so the racer has time to set the primer bottle down and take the starter off the blower or let the starter rest on it's crank starter cradle and get ready to go for a ride down the track.
Simple to replace the racer will just need to throw a pair of dial calipers around the outside diameter of the starter jaw and measure. The two most common sizes are 2.170" or 2.210" and it is important to take note on the size of the nut and threads that hold the starter jaw on. The #2050-0067 Large Hole jaw will have a .770" hole in the center for a large shouldered nut to go down into.
Racer can choose jaw size from drop down menu.
