For the racer that experiences engine detonation and the surface between the crank hub and crank gear become galled up, this makes servicing the engine difficult.

The crank gear can typically be cleaned up as can the back of the crank hub, problem being sometimes it is easier to stick the crank hub in the lathe, take a skim cut off the back of the hub and have a fresh clean flat surface. Now the issue is the hub is to short!

Well friends here is where the bronze Hemi/BBC crank washer comes into play. Washer measures 2.185" O.D., 1.700" I.D. and .125" thick. Simply place between the gear and back of the hub, slide the assm. together and torque down. Back to original dimensions so everything lines up where you need it to.
