For the racer that has some rebuild repairs to do between rounds often one of them is putting a new piston in the hole, which means that you may have to run a hone thru the sleeve to make everything happy again. Now in the past when you would run the hone up and down in the sleeve with your secret honing sauce flying all over the place it would run down the sleeve all over your beautiful crankshaft and where ever else it might of flown and the issue is there is gritty particles coming off the hone mixing with the hone sauce and what you don't want is any of that going anywhere but in the sleeve.
In the past you had no choice and hoped for the best with Brake Clean and rags but with this new honing plug tool your day at the track just got a whole lot better and you can keep the mess in this new honing plug while the job is performed.
Simple to use, you simply install the handle into the plug, slide it down in the sleeve, spin the handle off the plug, drop the cap over the threads and let the magic happen. When done, lift the cap off, re-install the handle, slide the plug up out of the sleeve, do final clean up and get to putting your hot rod back together to make the next round.
Plug is made from billet alum. that is anodized for quick clean up and to prevent galling against the steel sleeve. Hone plug has an O-ring on the O.D. of the bore to keep all the mess in the cup and there are some rubber bands included that can cover the O.D of the hone cup if it is needed to make tighter in the bore. Handle is 9.50" long and includes a hard plastic ball for easy grip to pull the plug out which is nice if your hands are slippery with hone sauce all over them.
Racer can choose bore size from drop down menu.
