*** IN STOCK SHIPS TODAY *** From time to time a racer will switch back and forth between a TFX type engine block over to a BAE type engine block and the differences between the gear drives is small with the exception of the front cover and idler gear axle. With a BAE gear drive cover, idler gear bracket and idler gear axle the racer can take their TFX type gear drive swap all the parts over and you are ready to hit the track.
These steel inserts get pressed into the gear drive cover and stick out the back of the cover to register the idler gear axle plate and are internally threaded so the racer can install three 3/8" bolts into the inserts to hold the idler gear axle plate onto the gear drive cover.
Typically on a gear drive cover there is three inserts, two are plain and one is drilled and tapped 5/16"-18 in the front to mount a fuel pump extension bolt to.
Inserts are made from heat-treated steel and black oxide coated. Threads inside insert are 3/8"-24.
Racer can pick which inserts they need from the drop down menu. Typically two plain and one tapped, grab some bolts and you are ready for action.
Insert dimensions are as follows, head of insert is .700" O.D. with a .100" thick head. Part that presses into gear drive cover is .500" O.D., under the head to the end of the insert is 1.240".
