When Manton decided to make these rocker shafts valve train stability was their main concern so they manufactured their shafts to be very strong and provide the racer with a superior part.
Choice of material is .250” wall thickness 4130 Chromoly steel. Each pre-heat treated shaft is prepared in a four axis milling center, then center less ground undersize, hard chromed oversize and finish ground to size. This leaves a hard chrome surface .008” deep, providing excellent wear protection in any application, including use in your daily driven street Hemi.
All of Manton shafts use a threaded plug to seal each end. This eliminates any chance of an oil leak from worn or poor fitting O-rings.
RBS carries the 426 Fuel Hemi head version shaft and the 426 Manton Fathead stand shaft that uses 5/16" bolts for alcohol racing. BAE stands with 1/4" bolt will not work with the 5/16" bolt shafts.
Fuel Head Rocker arm shafts are .870" in diameter, intake is 20.50" long overall and exhaust is 19.50" long overall. Shaft end is plugged for oil control. Bolt hole is .430".
Fat Head Rocker arm shafts are .870" in diameter, intake is 20.375" long overall and exhaust is 20.125" long overall. Shaft end is plugged for oil control. Bolt hole is .343".
Racer can pick intake or exhaust and cylinder head type from the drop down menu.
